Thanks to all who came out to our first annual family walk to commemorate Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Day on October 15, 2017. It was a great, albeit rainy, night of community support and remembrance.

About 200 people registered for the walk and nearly $1500 was raised for our local loss support group, A.M.E.N.D. Tampa

The evening included a wonderful poem reading, rock painting for kids, an appearance by the local AMEND group, a family 1-mile walk throughout Cotanchobee Ft Brooke park along the Tampa Riverwalk, and a flower release into the river. OneBlood was on the premises for blood donations in honor of placenta accreta awareness, a contributor to miscarriage and maternal loss. A total of 21 lives in our area were helped by those blood donations.

A big thank you to Karen Frazier from AMEND for being there to meet loss families and to all of our volunteers who helped put together this event. A big shout out to Christy Marie Photography for capturing the event. Another thanks to our community sponsors- Nutrition Smart, Whole Foods, Publix, and Thrivent Financial- for your financial and in-kind donations. We couldn't have done it without you.

10News attended and put together a great story on the event. Check it out here.

If you have experienced loss or are currently experiencing it, remember that you are not alone. Know that there are resources out there and people who care and understand. Don't be afraid to reach out.
