It is with great joy and excitement that we announce that Barefoot Birth is (FINALLY!!!) providing concierge home birth services and personalized prenatal care! We are looking forward to preserving REAL home birth midwifery right here Tampa Bay!
I, Charlie Rae Young, am now a Florida Licensed Midwife #276 as well as a Certified Professional Midwife, adding to my previous title of doula and Certified Lactation Counselor.
We will be serving a 1 hr radius of Brandon, Florida with concierge in-home prenatal and postpartum care. Don't want to leave home for an appointment? Now you don't have to! In my hard work to preserve the art and science of the age old midwifery model of care, I will continue the tradition of home visits for expecting families.
Be on the lookout for the Barefoot Bus project, which should be up and rolling in October providing easy-access care to families across the bay area.
We serve and respect ALL families. We accept most major insurance, Medicaid, and offer a reasonable $6,000 all-inclusive fee for self-pay clients. We are always happy to discuss payment plans and special circumstances for all of our clients.
We continue to be closely tied to Lakeland Midwifery Care and Marianne Power RN, LM, CPM as she will offer back-up support for our clientele, and vice versa. Everyone in the family is excited to have such a wonderful midwife to continue to work beside (because really, Marianne is a HUGE part of our family, too!)
The rest of the Barefoot family will continue to provide excellent birth related services to the community- including the fierce expertise of experienced birth and postpartum doula support, independent childbirth education, placenta arts, full-spectrum support, prenatal massage therapy, craniosacral therapy, as well as maternity, birth, and newborn photography.
Much love and gratitude to the community for your support over the years, I am so thrilled say that I am now able to serve families as a partner in their care, offering truly unique support throughout the childbearing years. I have been blessed and honored to work with so many midwives in this community and beyond and am so grateful to bring the skills and knowledge I have acquired into this new chapter.
