My Doula Was Brandi Morales of Barefoot Birth : Part 3 | Tampa Bay Doula
"After meeting with Brandi, I was confident that she could provide much more support than our previous experience, and she was able to answer all of my questions with ease, demonstrating to me she had plenty of birth experience. We met several times in advance to go over my birth preferences and for her to get to know me and my husband. I was impressed by her honesty, openness, and calmness."
My Doula Was Brandi Morales of Barefoot Birth : Part 1 | Tampa Bay Doula
I'm so glad I had Brandi as my doula. I had a successful HBAC (Home Birth After Cesarean) at 41+6. She was such great support to my whole family. It's been 5 weeks and my 3.5 year old still talks about her. It was such a great familiar experience. If you're lucky enough to have her, you will love her!
VBAC Options & Birth Statistics: Hernando County Edition | Spring Hill Home Birth Midwife
Hello families! This blog was originally going to be a “VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) options in Hernando County”, as I have been noticing a lot of women in the local breastfeeding facebook group asking about VBAC-friendly providers. The more I started digging into Hernando’s cesarean rates vs successful VBAC, the deeper into the rabbit hole I fell. The numbers are alarming and unpromising, to say the least.
Homebirth Turned Hospital VBAC SUCCESS! | Tampa Bay Midwife
We try to keep it real with our clients. Any birth is a success. It takes great courage to walk into one of the most overwhelming, intense, and beautiful experiences in life- birth. No matter how it happens it takes so much strength and determination. We're excited to open the dialogue more about collaborative care, homebirth transfers, and especially necessary cesareans.
Never Too Late: A VBAC after Special Scar Story | Tampa Bay Midwife & Doula
This is a birth story from a doula client of mine turned midwifery client of Charlie's. A big part of my role as a doula prenatally is giving families information and then holding the space for them to make decisions about their care. I can't tell anyone how to give birth, I can only support the way they want to do it. I want all families to feel good about the support they've chosen. I am so happy that this mama didn't give up looking for the care she wanted during this important time. I'm so grateful she decided to share her VBAC after Special Scar (VBASS) story here with all of you. -Mary Catherine
My VBAC baby is 12 weeks old and I finally have my birth story together to share! Here is my HBAC after special scar story...
Bringing It Home - VBAC FTW! {Tampa Bay Homebirth}
I woke up after a peculiar and very real dream the day before we found out we were expecting again. I had dreamt that I was lying in bed, looking into the side-cared crib, and sleeping peacefully was a sweet baby boy. The next day I decided to test. Lo’ and behold, we were going to have our second baby!

Let's not fuel the fire. Something important may burn down. {Tampa Bay Midwife}
war of childbirth ethics in our own Tampa Bay community made national news this week: a war over one woman's birth journey, a war between the right to informed consent to care and the medical system within which that right exists. A war that many women across the country (and now the globe) have added their voices to. However they have only heard one media-sensationalized side of a personal story.
