Affordable Pregnancy Care in Tampa | Tampa Bay Midwife

Some of you may have heard about our Barefoot Birth project we started way back in 2013. The Barefoot Bus provided an 'easy access' model of care to families right in their own neighborhood. With changes to Florida Medicaid a few years ago the bus slowly became too expensive to run. It was and emotional end of an awesome adventure but helped to expedite our long term plan of creating a community space where families could gather. Enter the Community Roots Collective and the home base we have been growing since 2015. 

Our mission that began with The Barefoot Bus continues in our office at The Roots. We accept Florida Medicaid for prenatal and postpartum care as well as homebirth services. For those who don't qualify for Medicaid, don't have private insurance, and otherwise find themselves unable to afford care we offer affordable visits and routine labwork as well as referrals to affordable ultrasound services to monitor low risk pregnancies.  We see clients on a sliding scale based on financial need and can work out long term payment options as needed. We believe that no one should go without care regardless of ability to pay.
